About James Soll

Charming audiences with his unique blend of flamenco inspired guitar, James Soll has become a well-known element of the Phoenix music scene. Recognizable are diverse melodies from groups sucha as the Eagles or even Led Zeppelin interpreted in the form of a flamenco Alegria or Bolero. Other songs embrace flamenco tradition more purely as in the mystical Malaguena... His music at once evokes the passion and pain of the Andalucian gypsy spirit while still maintaining its place as modern. His style is definitively Spanish, but refined through classical training. A Bachelor's in music performance and a Master's in music theory and composition established a foundation from which he has developed his unique sound. From studying under "" in Sevilla to "" in California, his guitar has come to evoke the sentiment and passion of Southern Spain...

While relentless in developing himself as a player, he is similarly driven as an instructor. As such, he has established a remarkable following of serious students - at times having as many as 80 per week.

James has performed alongside many of the significant flamenco guitarists in the Phoenix area including Guitano, Miguel (last name?), Kurt Kleinhans and most recently with Miguel de Maria at Barcelona Restaurant in Scottsdale. James is frequently found playing in clubs, resorts and events around Phoenix.
